so jealous that you will get to go back to vienna and bratislava on this trip, i absolutely ADORE vienna 💕im amazed at the volume of writing professional writers have to juggle (even though it seems like your load now is much lighter than it used to be) both in terms of length and genres and subjects. truly a skill. it keeps things interesting, even though im sure wires can get crossed or it can feel overwhelming to have so many plates spinning. // i’ll be really interested to see how things go with your mom and about how your notion of family is shifting during and after this visit to europe. rooting for you! ✨♥️🥰
Gosh where to start! I've finally finished the articles and my bag is almost packed so I'm feeling pretty set and ready and like I can let myself get excited now which is nice! It was funny, I was reading my 3 year diary and this time last year I was in exactly the same kind of pre trip panic, so it's nice to know some things never change even if lots of other stuff does 😂
But yes, travel writing is an interesting industry. It definitely involves a lot of juggling and moving parts. It's fun, but tough to be sustainable. I was telling a friend this week that I think I'd be much better at writing books than churning out shorter form content, but I have a fair few friends who are absolute wizards and can just sit down and pull an incredible article like the kind I'd spend weeks labouring over out of thin air. We all have different skills, I guess!
Thanks for your kind wishes for the family adventures, too! It's going to be so nice to see them all but it is always bittersweet these days for so many reasons, too. I daresay I'll have lots to share when I get back! Xxx
Thanks Bel! They're finally done. I'm exhausted but pleased with them all and honestly, even though I stayed up till 2am last night to finish this final one, I'm kind of excited about writing my next ghost town one already 😂🙈 maybe it'll be a plane project, haha! Xx
